Mariette P. Allen
"Transformations" is a portfolio of 11 portraits of crossdressers that were made in the 1980s. The portfolio is the result of Ms. Allen’s pioneering work (photography and interviews) with crossressers and their families. The resulting photographs, which document daily life, relationships, families, offer an insight into gender stereotypes and preferences, culture and sexuality. The portfolio was produced to coincide with the publication of "Transformations: Crossdressers and Those Who Love Them", in 1989.
The prints are dye transfer, edition of 25, 15 x 22 inches (on 24 x 30 inches mats) in an azure clamshell case
