Gianni Monteleone is an American artist born in New York City, where he still lives and works. He first studied painting at age 16 under the instruction of his grandfather Franco Monteleone, a successful illustrator and wood grainer. His theme choices create a ritualized version of everyday reality, in a play of light and shadow and with perfect compositional and technical control. He holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, where he has taught drawing and painting and received ongoing training with the Art Students League of New York. Some eminent private American collections owning his works are the New York Times, NBC, and 1330 Avenue of the Americas building.
