WESTWOODPHOTO is a division of WESTWOOD GALLERY NYC to present vintage and contemporary photographs for collector acquisition, as well as to educate the public on the photographic history, inspiration and process.
The photographers include both historic and contemporary, many at work before the digital era, including Lucien Clergue, Bob Adelman, Jacques Lowe, Douglas Kirkland, Roy Schatt, Man Ray, Leo Matiz, Richard Avedon, Hatami, John Thomson, Séraphin-Médéric Mieusement and others.
Selections of photographs include images of iconic artists and creative individuals, such as Jean Cocteau, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann, Robert Indiana, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Picasso, James Dean, Coco Chanel, The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday, Arthur Miller, Sydney Poitier, Malcolm X and many others.
Historic photographs include 19th century China and the Far East, Mexican industry 1950s, Algerian Amazigh 1960s, Middle East politics 1960s, Cuba 1950s, French architecture 19th century, Civil Rights movement 1960s and American film and theatre 1960s.
